More than a century ago, Wilbur & Orville Wright invented the world’s first airplane in Dayton, OH, but our development in aerospace and aviation did anything but stop there! Ohio is the North American hub of aerospace and aviation advancement and the Dayton Region is anything but a co-pilot.

Home to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio’s largest single-site employer, the Dayton Region’s strength in the aerospace and aviation industry is substantial. Within a 50-mile radius of Dayton, which includes part of the Cincinnati market, a significantly strong aircraft manufacturing supply chain exists. Of the top 30 manufacturing industries required throughout the aircraft manufacturing industry for aircraft production, 28 exist in the state of Ohio and 24 are concentrated in Southwest Ohio.
