a. The Preble County Art Association (PCAA) received a donation to purchase the historic Stotler building in downtown Eaton for use as the future home of the Visual Art Center. For a historic building, the Stotler building is in excellent condition and structurally sound but unfortunately must be brought to code and made ADA accessible for our community. PCAA is seeking $350,000 in public funds to address the most critical needs of code and accessibility compliance.

Community Impact and Job Creation
40. What is the community issue or need that your project will address?
a. The PCAA has been fortunate to see a huge swell of community engagement and support that has led to increased classes and programs at the Visual art Center. Even so, there is still a barrier in general awareness in that there are still many folks in the community that are unaware of our organization. The board has expressed concerns for several years about the visibility of the facility and the limitations the location may be causing. Board and staff members feel the current location, on the outskirts of Eaton away from the highly traveled roads, is isolating. Furthermore, because of our growing network, the Visual Art Center is outgrowing our 5,000 sq. ft. facility. Being in more central location that allows for impromptu foot traffic and a network of neighboring community and business partners. A larger facility will allow the PCAA to grow awareness and programming which will allow the organization to further its mission. We have secured a downtown Eaton location of almost 10,000
41. What is the measurement that will be used to determine whether the project was a success?

Prepare and preserve a historic building to be accessible for all people in the community
