Short description The proposed project is to create 65 parking spaces, including Electric Vehicle charging stations, for the future Yellow Springs Clifton Connector Trailhead, which will be located at the NW corner of the intersection with SR 343 and SR 68. Yellow Springs-Clifton Connector will be approximately 5.17 miles long. The trail corridor will share the path and easements for fiber optics installation to connect underserved communities in the rural areas of the county.

Community Details

40. Community Need The Village of Yellow Springs has a strong and sustained commitment to racial equity and environmental sustainability. The Village’s Values and Goals that guide budgeting and hiring processes clearly reflect these commitments. Founded in 1804, Yellow Springs is a unique mix of rural and urban, with a thriving downtown and eclectic neighborhoods surrounded by preserved farmland. Yellow Springs “destination” along Little Miami Scenic Trail where the heart of downtown offers a variety of art, jewelry, clothing and book stores, coupled with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and anchored by a full-service grocery store, a pharmacy and hardware store. Often listed as one of the “Coolest”, “Most Beautiful” and “Best College” small town to visit, Yellow Springs is surrounded by Glen Helen Nature Preserve, John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. The Village attracts over 300K visitors annually through many festivals such as Street Fair, Springsfest, Porchfest, Art on the Lawn, and many other special events.

Parking as become a limiting factor for individuals in the region to enjoy the natural beauty that Yellow Springs has to offer. Your financial support of $20,000 will allow the Village to had 65 additional parking spaces to the existing 250 parking spaces located at the Village's municipal center.
