Large Sized Unmanned Aerial Systems Acquisition Initiative
To continue to serve the needs of the rapidly growing UAS industry, Sinclair will expand its small UAS fleet to incorporate aircraft over the 55-pound category. These include fixed-wing systems capable of long-duration operations, cargo delivery systems, and passenger air vehicles (PAVs). This fleet expansion will allow further research and development, academic instruction, and hands-on training for real-world applications in both the private and public sectors.

This data point- and more- confirm the trend from over more than the last decade, which shows a strong demand for UAS technologies and commercial applications and robust educational programs. This has accelerated in recent years, somewhat driven by the pandemic. Therefore, it is imperative that leading educational and applied research institutions, including Sinclair, continue to invest in the latest technology and larger systems as the regulations develop to enable their full integration and application commercially in the near-term.
