3. Short description A covered bridge across the Stillwater River to enhance the existing bikeway/pedestrian access providing a connection with the regional bikeway system. The bridge will be constructed at the precise location of the former Historic National Road covered bridge and a replica of the one that once crossed the Stillwater. The bridge will provide a connection to the east and west sides of the Englewood MetroPark, crossing the Stillwater River. Funds will be spent on construction and engineering costs.

Community Details

40. Community Need The project will extend the bikeway/pedestrian system within the Englewood MetroPark from the east to west sides of the park, traversing the Stillwater River. The connection will serve the numerous park users who walk, bike or jog throughout the park. The connection will permit MetroPark users to cross the Stillwater River directly from downtown Englewood, at a safe, signalized crossing of Main Street (St. Rt. 48), travel throughout the entire park, and return to the west side of the park.
