The mission of the Miami Valley Research Foundation centers around the recruitment of companies in the technology and research fields to our region. The large tracts of land that the Research Foundation owns are well positioned to recruit these types of companies with WPAFB, Wright State University, and the University of Dayton all in close proximity. This proposed project is needed to help identify existing shovel ready sites and to identify the additional work needed to provide utility services to this land to better market this available property to these types of companies and to bring these higher paying jobs to our region.
The success of this project will be measured by the number of new companies that choose to purchase land and construct new facilities within the Miami Valley Research Park. The servicing of this land with utilities is currently seen as an impediment to development within the Research Park. The planning and construction of new utility facilities will serve to remove this barrier and will encourage new investment.
