3. Short description The present Montgomery County Jail was built in 1965. Two major updates, one in 1993 and the other in 2004 increased the facility’s capacity. Assistance is needed to modernize and upgrade the facility. Older jails are not conducive to today’s mental health, medical and opioid issues. This update will allow for NaphCare, Inc., to operate within the jail and provide mental health and medical services through a physician, psychiatrist, dentist, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.

Community Details

40. Community Need The existing layout and status of the Montgomery County Jail needs upgrades to meet the needs of the community. These upgrades will address the medical health issues stemming from the opioid crisis and the increased awareness of mental health issues. It will create facilities and rooms for NaphCare, a healthcare provider within correctional facilities, to address the medical and mental health needs of the community and jail population.

This project will allow staff and contractors, NaphCare, to operate more efficiently and streamlined, and reduce incidents arising from poor conditions and inadequate facilities for men, women, mental health and medical health individuals. An improvement in overall care, and reduction in incidents and reports.
