Wolf Creek Bikeway Connector (Phase 1)
The Wolf Creek Bikeway Connector Project will eliminate a gap in the existing Wolf Creek Trail that currently separates the western part of the trail and the northwest quadrant of Montgomery County from the entire regional bikeway system. Phase 1 begins inside Hickorydale Park at the west end of Hillcrest Ave. in Dayton and connects to Wesleyan MetroPark.

The project is funded by a federal CMAQ grant (pending state approval) for $2,786,422. Local match total is $1,188,378. Five Rivers MetroParks will be providing $688,378. City of Dayton will provide $500,000 of the local match.

Community Details
Upon completion, the new trail section (including east and west) will connect the Cities of Trotwood and Brookville, and Clay and Perry Townships to the rest of the regional trail network. This will provide residents of those areas with access to employment, educational, and entertainment opportunities throughout the county via a safe alternate transportation system.
The trail will be constructed entirely within areas that are identified as at or above the county
percentages for minority population and populations in poverty, and will primarily serve those areas.
Additionally, the area where this project is being proposed has been identified as a geographically under-served part of the county.
-20% of Dayton residents do not own a car, provides a safe and efficient alternative transportation option.
