JOBSOHIO OSIP GRANT SUPPORTS CONNOR GROUP EXPANSION

MIAMI TOWNSHIP -- The Connor Group will expand its headquarters and invest more than $20 million in facilities on the grounds of the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.

Local officials said the development will expedite the growth of one of the area’s top businesses while enhancing Dayton’s rich aviation history and helping attract top-notch talent to the region.

This project will expand The Connor Group’s existing Class A headquarters to accommodate new offices and a training center with multiple classrooms. The unique design of the new facilities – designed by renowned architect Curt Moody – should receive national recognition for architectural excellence.

“We continue to believe and invest in the greater Dayton region. Our company’s strategic growth has created the need for expansion. The Annex will create the space and opportunity for up to 56 new high-paying jobs,” said Larry Connor, founder and managing partner of The Connor Group. “We appreciate JobsOhio and the forward-thinking of their OSIP program, which helped put our plan into action.”

The new facility will add nearly 23,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office space, allowing for further training and collaboration of associates.

“This project will help attract highly educated, high-earning residents for the region,” said Julie Sullivan, the Dayton Development Coalition’s Executive Vice President for Regional Development. “The Connor Group’s landmark headquarters serves as an expression of its employee-centered, collaborative culture. We’re excited to support their growth in the region.

The Connor Group received an $800,000 grant from JobsOhio’s Ohio Site Inventory Program (OSIP). OSIP offers grants and low-interest loans to support opportunities that fill gaps in Ohio’s real estate inventory with real estate targeting near-term sector wins. OSIP also specifically supports infrastructure development at Ohio’s airports to ensure our state is more competitive.

The Miami Township – Dayton Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) intends to offer project support of up to $100,000, subject to the accomplishment of certain employment metrics and receipt of necessary approvals. The JEDD is a special purpose entity and partnership between Miami Township and the City of Dayton that supports economic development for the Dayton – Wright Brothers Airport and surrounding areas.

The project also received a Dayton-Montgomery County Port Authority sales tax exemption. In addition to close freeway and strong retail and commerce access, the site is located in a Foreign Trade Zone.

“The Connor Group headquarters is at a premier location on the airport property and within the community, serving as a highly visible example of the level of investment that companies are willing to make with our community and the State of Ohio,” said Ronald Hess, Miami Township Administrator. “This project will add additional high wage professional jobs and help to retain existing jobs in the community.”

“The Connor Group’s expanded headquarters and training center will boost the company’s ability to grow and attract talent in the Dayton region,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. “This investment solidifies the footprint of an Ohio company while supporting the ongoing success of an important community partner.”
