Advocacy

The Dayton Development Coalition maintains a full-time office in Washington, D.C., supporting legislative initiatives at the federal and state levels which promote economic development and job growth in the Dayton Region.

We support the region’s federal installations, including Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which are major sources of jobs for the region. We also assist local businesses with formulating government policies, securing government assistance and fielding government-related questions.

Every spring, the Dayton Development Coalition organizes the Community Leader Fly-In to reinforce our region’s relationship with our elected leaders and senior government officials.

We bring business, civic, government and educational leaders to Washington to meet with senior government officials and members of our House and Senate Congressional delegation. The three-day event facilitates conversations about our regional priorities and demonstrates our support for our federal installations. We also use the Fly-In to formally deliver our local funding priorities, selected through our Priority Development and Advocacy Committee (PDAC) process.

The Dayton Region Priority Development and Advocacy Committee (PDAC) process is organized to evaluate projects and establish a list of regional priorities and recommended projects that aid the community in speaking with a singular voice when pursuing funding opportunities.
