WAPAKONETA— Wapakoneta’s West Central Ohio Industrial Center has received JobsOhio’s SiteOhio authentication, ensuring the site is free of any detriments that may slow or stop development. This designation makes it among Ohio’s top industrial sites.

"SiteOhio authentication of the West Central Ohio Industrial Center in Wapakoneta reinforces its position as a top-tier industrial site, offering businesses strategic location advantages and seamless access to millions within reach." Said Alan Davis, Board President of the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council.

One of Ohio’s first Job Ready Sites, West Central Ohio Industrial Center is composed of over 350 total acres. This industrial location has a variety of “shovel-ready” sites that range in size from 5 to 120 acres. Deemed as a CSX Platinum Select Site, the site is currently one of the largest rail-served, greenfield sites in the U.S. West Central Ohio Industrial Center is located within a day’s drive of 50 percent of U.S. and Canadian population and 70 percent of North American manufacturing locations.

“West Central Ohio Industrial Center offers businesses easy access to more than nine million people within 300 miles of the site,” said Dayton Development Coalition Executive Vice President of Regional Development Julie Sullivan. “Being a CSX Select and Job Ready Site, having highway and rail access, utilities, and the talented workforce in Auglaize County make West Central Ohio Industrial Center attractive to businesses looking to invest and succeed quickly.”

SiteOhio is a one-of-a-kind site evaluation program offered by JobsOhio. The program goes beyond the common certified site process and puts properties with industrial zoning through a more stringent and comprehensive review and analysis. SiteOhio authentication guarantees that all utilities are on the property and have adequate capacity, that due diligence studies have been completed, and that all state and federal entities have provided concurrence with the studies.

“The SiteOhio authentication process is thorough, and it’s because of the dedication of our partners at the Dayton Development Coalition and the Wapakoneta Economic Development Council that the West Central Ohio Industrial Center is construction-ready,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “In Ohio, we’re preparing sites unlike any other state in the nation because we want to make it easy for businesses to build and grow here, bringing quality jobs to more Ohioans.”
