Dayton Development Coalition Hosts First Virtual Annual Meeting To Share 2020 Results

In 2020, companies committed to create more than 1,994 new jobs in the Dayton Region, retain more than 8,203 jobs and invest more than $604.9 million in capital improvements, the Dayton Development Coalition announced Wednesday at its 2020 Annual Meeting. The numbers represent companies that worked with the DDC and JobsOhio to expand or establish new operations in the region.

Dayton Development Coalition Releases 2019-2020 PDAC Community Project Prioritization Lists

DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Region Priority Development & Advocacy Committee (PDAC) has released its annual list of community-evaluated projects seeking funding.

Led by the Dayton Development Coalition with support from the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the process sets regional priorities for community projects and allows the Dayton Region to speak with one voice when seeking governmental and other project support.

2019 in Review

We have a simple, straightforward mission at the Dayton Development Coalition: To recruit, expand and retain jobs in the Dayton Region. When the year ends and we look back on our work, those three things show the growth of the region’s economic base.

For 2019, those metrics hardly seem like enough. In a year that saw catastrophic storms and horrific violence, the Dayton Region responded with compassion, strength, and resiliency. 2019 marked the year our community let the world see what makes us #DaytonStrong.

Federal Installations Have a $16.68 Billion Economic Impact on the Dayton Region, Generate 88,000 Jobs

DAYTON, Ohio –An economic impact analysis conducted for the Dayton Development Coalition by The Perduco Group found that Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Springfield Air National Guard Base, and the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center have a combined economic impact of $16.68 billion on the 14-count

A Moment of Opportunity for Dayton

When Dayton community leaders conducted their first fly-in to Washington in 1984, the U.S. military was engaged in what proved to be the last big modernization surge of Cold War years.

The Air Force was buying hundreds of new fighters each year, not to mention two different bombers.

Every facet of military spending was increasing, and by the end of the 1980s employment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base topped 30,000.

But then the Cold War ended.
