Community Details

40. Community Need Southeast Drainage Basin is a known problem area for I/I and wet weather overflows. The recent completion of a Parallel Interceptor Relief Sewer will help relieve the Southeast Drainage Basin on the downstream end which was completed in 2021. Upsizing some of the main arterial pipes through the Southeast Drainage Basin, as well as the addition of new trunk sewers, will create system relief and flows will be able to reach the new main line interceptor with greater efficiency. There were five sewer projects identified in the Sanitary Master Plan (SE-U1, SE-U2, SE-N1, SE-N2, and SE-N3) and all five will be completed as part of this project. In addition to the sanitary improvements, other critical utilities owned by the Department of Water exist in the same project limit. These other utilities will need to be relocated and replaced for the construction of the new sanitary sewers. This project currently includes both the design phase and construction phase work associated with the necessary improvements.

This project consists of approximately 3,000 LF of 36” and 3,000 LF of 54” sanitary liners on the two primary trunk sewers for the Wolf Creek Sanitary Sewer Basin. On each separate sewer span (manhole to manhole), the work includes the furnishing of all labor, tools, equipment and materials, and performing all operations in connection with the lining of the existing 36” and 54” sanitary sewers with a continuously extruded jointless and seamless pipe liner with enough extra length to facilitate sealing of the liner to the manholes. The work shall also include complete maintenance of all wastewater flows and reopening/reconnecting active sanitary service connections.
