Community Details
The Dayton Woman's Club is one of the last homes from the 1800s remaining in downtown Dayton. The Dayton Woman's Club is used for various purposes such as educational programs, social events, and organizational retreats and conferences. Every year, for the last several years, we have provided the event space, training and lunch for the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio Miss Manners Badge. This event is open to all Junior Girl Scouts in the Dayton, Ohio region and is well attended by several different troops and their leaders. The Dayton Woman's Club has several events each month, open to the public, providing a speaker during our lunch and learn events. Some of the topics have been Women in Aviation, Stress Management and Insights on Traveling. We also have events throughout the year such as a class on flower arrangement and how to make a Charcuterie Board (meat and cheese tray for parties). The Dayton Woman's Club recognizes the need for families to be able to be together during special holidays such as Thanksgiving and Mother's Day and we invite different caterers to present their best meals for these events. Our facility is used often as a meeting space for several different groups ranging in size from 4 people to 200 people. We have a beautiful ballroom with a stage and piano that can be used for various purposes.

The repairs we would like to complete are replacing the roof in areas that currently leak, replacing flooring damaged due to the leaking roof and other high traffic areas, updating some areas of the kitchen - tile, plumbing, sinks, stoves and refrigerators. There are 6 bathrooms that would be updated with this funding; plumbing, tile, new fixtures. The basement/foundation needs to be sealed to prevent water seeping in and to help prevent the foundation from deteriorating. And finally, there are 2 HVAC units that need to be replaced.
