Short description The DIA Northeast Logistics Access Project will support burgeoning logistics development at DIA by improving the surrounding roadway network around the east and north sides of the airport. The project will include roadway improvements from the western limit of the Flying J Truckstop on Northwoods Boulevard, along Northwoods Boulevard to North Dixie Drive, along North Dixie Drive to Lightner Road, and along Lightner Road to the Chewy's site. The total project length is approximately 3 miles.

Community Details

40. Community Need Significant logistics development around the DIA has already occurred. Large-scale warehouse and distribution facilities are currently under construction with addition facilities planned by multiple corporations. The roadway network around the north and east sides of DIA has largely not been improved since the logistics development began. Resurfaced and widened pavements, two-way left turn lanes, upgraded intersections, and new traffic signals are needed to improve safety and travel reliability on the NE perimeter routes and reduce truck traffic through downtown Vandalia.
