Digital Innovation Toolbox for Digital Transformation Center
The University of Dayton is fully committed to the vision of a “Digital Dayton.” To position our region at the leading edge of digital innovation, we created the Digital Transformation Center, a shared collaborative space designed to reduce the barriers to innovation. To fully remove these barriers and further enhance collaboration, we need a high-end digital toolbox to provide Dayton’s community the resources that will allow them to push digital innovation forward at the speed of relevance.

Boosted by a digital toolbox, the DTC will become a national leader in digital transformation and innovation by leveraging the power of in-person collaboration among government, industry and academic partners, which in turn unleashes energy, ideas and creativity; by providing common access to high-powered tools and equipment that will enhance our collective potential to innovate beyond existing borders and in ever-decreasing timeframes; and by fostering workforce development programs and connections with academic institutions to expand and equip the eligible workforce.

The digital toolbox with software and hardware tools, such as advanced analytics and AI platforms and tools, supply chain management software, quality management systems, data analytics platforms, secure communication systems, sensors, digital twin technology, robotics and automation, 3D printing, augmented reality, and virtual reality tools, will empower the Air Force and industry to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure the security of defense manufacturing. By including such functionality into the DTC through the digital toolbox, we enable our community businesses to not just thrive locally, but compete globally in the digital age.

Our sustained commitment to research and development will ensure that the Air Force and WPAFB remain at the forefront of technological advancements, enhancing mission effectiveness and readiness. Equipping the Digital Transformation Center with a digital toolbox represents a significant leap forward in bolstering national security and technological prowess in the digital era, making this funding request an investment not just in defense, but in the future of the nation.
