Woodman Drive Project
Woodman Drive Phase 4 extends along Woodman Drive between Airway Road and the City of Riverside's north corporation line, north of Springfield Street. The City looks to provide improvements and modifications to reduce the frequencies of crashes, particularly into WPAFB's perimeter security fence; address the crumbling infrastructure; and provide multi-modal & aesthetic improvements to the corridor which compliment those recently completed by the City along Springfield Street.

Community Details
Woodman Drive serves as a gateway not only to the City of Riverside but also as an entrance to downtown Dayton, Montgomery County and WPAFB/NMUSAF. Woodman Drive has exceeded its useful life. Repairs and upgrades are in progress along segments of the corridor.

The City has invested $6.8M in the corridor to date, of which $400,000 has been committed to studying Phase 4. It is important to note that although WPAFB is the largest single-site employer in the State of Ohio, the City of Riverside isn't able to draw upon income tax revenues needed to maintain their infrastructure surrounding the base.

The City of Riverside is seeking $3M to fund the engineering design, right-of-way costs and bridge removal at Woodman Drive and Springfield Street.
