A Letter from Jeff Hogland
We have a simple, straightforward mission at the Dayton Development Coalition: To recruit, expand and retain jobs in the Dayton Region. When the year ends and we look back on our work, those three things show the growth of the region’s economic base.
Dayton Development Coalition Celebrates Record Year!
The Dayton Development Coalition (DDC) celebrated a record year in 2022 at its Annual Meeting + Economic Review on Wednesday. The region set records for jobs committed, new payroll, and capital investment, fueled by historic projects by Honda and LG Solution in Fayette County and SEMCORP in Shelby County.
Positioning the Dayton Region for Growth
To capture projects, big or small, Dayton must-have sites ready for investment. Projects are moving at a faster pace and greater scale than ever before. We used to have 18 months to two years to land a project. Now those decisions are being made in six months or less. If a site is not ready with power, water, zoning and other considerations, there is no time to fix those issues before a company decides. Therefore, site inventory must be ready before a company starts looking at the region.
